About the event

We would like to welcome you to our Primary to Secondary School Transition Session to cover hints and tips on how to promote a smooth secondary school transition on the 10th of October with our renowned speaker from Abigail Thomas from Young Hackney.

The transition from primary to secondary school is crucial as it marks a significant milestone in a student's academic journey. It involves adapting to a new setting, meeting new teachers and students, and adjusting to new subjects and expectations.

A successful transition can help improve a student's confidence, social skills, and academic performance, while a difficult transition can lead to anxiety, stress, and a negative impact on their overall well-being. Therefore, it is important to provide support and resources to help students make a smooth transition and ensure their continued success in secondary school.

We provide tips on what to do during year 7, activities for your young person to engage in, how to handle the first term of transition and local support groups a parent can join and a list of useful websites for young people.

We look forward to seeing you online!
